Introduced to fansubbing after silverfire identified potential talent in editing. Several months passed, only unofficially playing the role of distro. Later joined AnimeCouncil as an editor, and taught himself typesetting, discontinuing work as an editor after Mahou Sensei Negima. Started being referred to as 'sugi' around this time. Occasionally did freelance typesetting jobs, usually at silverfire's recommendation.

Cycled semi-predictably between school, distro, typesetting, and general laziness. Known to be a slow but methodical worker, often to the dismay of some project leaders who prioritized speed over quality.

Recently taught himself how to do typesetting and basic karaoke using OverLua in under 24 hours.
