Release Candidate

A Release Candidate (RC) refers to the next encoding, or subsequent encodings of a fansub video after the Quality Check stage, deemed as a potential final video file ready to be released and distributed unless fatal errors are discovered by anyone in the fansub group. By this stage, the fansub has completed all of its necessary steps to be made and is assumed by the group to be free of subtitle errors, omissions and video defects unless shown otherwise. Once the video is corrected or given one last confirmation of approval, it becomes the final encode and is released for distribution?.
